Chairman, Governing Council
Professor Adekunle Akinyemi, the Chairman of Council of The Polytechnic, Ibadan is an academic and entrepreneur of National and International stature. He has served in Universities in many countries of the world including Nigeria, Ghana, Botswana, Sultanate of Oman, UAE and the USA. He served in Academia longest at the University of Ilorin, as Professor of Educational Technology and Director of the Institute of Education and several other capacities as Chairman, Coordinator or Member. He was an Ambassador Plenipotentiary to the Government of Nigeria. He has received many awards, accolades and recognitions.
His educational development had been more in technology, having been exposed to Electronics, Engineering, Agriculture, and the technology of teaching and learning. As a researcher he has published in reputable national and international Journals and Books, as well as made presentations in national and international conferences. He designed and produced educational materials including gaming simulations of sociocultural importance in several cultures of the world.
As an Entrepreneur, he was the CEO of Eunidan Innovations International, an Educational Consultancy situated in the Knowledge Village, Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE; President/CEO of Ceezek Foundation Inc, a 501 ( C ) 3, not-for-profit educational Foundation, in Pikesville Maryland, USA, dedicated to eradicating illiteracy in Africa through book donations to Institutions at all levels. He is the Chairman/CEO of the BookHouse Education Trust of Nigeria.
On the home front, he is a proud son of Ibadanland who on account of his character and academic accomplishments, was conferred with the Honorary Chieftaincy title as Afiwakunmo of Ibadanland. He is an active member of Ibadan Solidarity Group (ISG) and Ibadan Foundation. He is currently pioneering the emergence of a new group – the Ibadan Youth Assembly (IYA), an association whose goal is to rid Ibadan of the Youth miscreants in various localities, doing havoc to neighbourhoods in Ibadanland.
He has held sensitive and important responsibilities and consultancy positions nationally and internationally – Nigeria Military TRADOC & NASE, Governments, Universities and Organisations. He is reliable, able, capable, and with seriousness of purpose to serve in educational capacities in Higher Education based on his rich experience and wide exposures in Nigeria and the Diaspora.
