Stephen Folorunso Ipadeola, the Director of Works & Services, was born in Saki town of Oyo State on January 16th 1967. He attended Baptist Primary School, Otun, Saki between 1973 and 1977.  He thereafter proceeded to Baptist High School, Saki for his Secondary Education in 1977 and completed in 1982.  He attended the then Oyo State College of Arts and Science, Ile-Ife briefly during the 1982/1983 session before crossing to the then University of Ife, Ile Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1983 to study Civil Engineering.  He thereafter attended University of Ibadan between 1993 and 1995 for a Master program in Agricultural Engineering.

Ipadeola, S. F. holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil engineering (1988) from the Obafemi Awolowo University. He also has a Master of Science degree in Agricultural engineering (1995) from the University of Ibadan. He is a duly registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN. He is a member of both the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Institution of Structural Engineers.

He worked as pupil engineer in a construction firm, Alphonso and Company, Kaduna, during his National Youth Service Corp’s primary assignment between 1988 and 1989 participating in road maintenance and urban flood/erosion control projects. Later between 1989 and 2002, he went into civil/structural engineering consultancy spanning his stay with BADAFASH Consulting Engineers (1989-1992), Civscon Consult (1992-1998), EMDEC Consult (1998) and ENCON International Ltd (1998-1999) participating in design and supervision of construction of various types of building structures, highways, geotechnics, water, urban renewal, rural development and environmental engineering projects sponsored by individuals, corporate bodies, Local, State and Federal Governments including those sponsored by World Bank.  Later he worked with SAFRO Consult as the Principal Partner (2000 -2002) where he handled many consultancy works.

Later in December 2002, he was employed into the services of the then Oyo State College of Education (now Emmanuel Alayande College of Education) where he joined other teams of professionals in the development of the College’s new site at Erelu Campus in Oyo town.  He participated in the construction of Administrative complex, classrooms, lecture hall, lecture theatres, staff offices, sports offices, Indoor sports halls, water prospecting and religious building complexes amongst other duties. Ipadeola, rose through the ranks from Senior Engineer (Civil) cadre to the position of Chief Engineer (Civil) in 2012.  He was appointed as the Director of Works and Services at The Polytechnic, Ibadan in March 2019.
