Sports

The polytechnic, Ibadan has a well blended Sports programme and activities with modern sports facilities towards the development of competitive sports and recreation.
Sport Facilities

Sports facilities includes three football pitches, one multipurpose court that house Basketball and Handball courts, Two Volleyball Courts, three Tennis Courts, Squash racket hall and an arena for Chess and Scrabble games. These facilities are evenly place at both the North and South Campuses.

NIPOGA AND WAPOGA Sporting Events

The institution usually participates at the Nigeria Polytechnic Games and West Africa Polytechnic Games and the following events are recognized at the two associations. Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Chess, Football, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Scrabble, Squash racket, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis and Volleyball.

Achievements:

The Sports Advisory Committee always struggled to keep sports alive and afloat throughout one academic session to the other with an unflinching supports of Council, Rector and Management team. Achievement in recent times includes:

2020 Nipoga games tagged Kwara 2020 The Polytechnic came third overall.

2021 (SOWEGA) South West Games

Development Association

The Polytechnic was represent and came third overall.

2023 OWO NIPOGA GAMES:

The polytechnic was in attendance and we also came third overall from 40 Polytechnics in Nigeria that participated.

Scholarships :

Scholarships are awarded for deserving athletes at each session of the academic calendar thus:

2019 to 2020 session 12 deserving athletes were awarded.

2020/2021 session 9 deserving athletes were awarded.

In 2022/2023 session 9 athletes were awarded.

This is a feat other institutions are trying to copy.

Staff Games and welfare are not neglected neither.

Looking forward in receiving more heroes and heroines at The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
